Mom and Dad 50th Celebration

We had a great weekend celebrating Mom and Dad's 50th wedding anniversary! I was almost a week of family being together. First the days preparing for the celebration, the celebration night, and then the days after the celebration. Family came from Oregon, Texas and Southern California. Amor and his brothers did a lot of catching up. Us, the wives had fun connecting, and the cousins got to spent time together. It was great to learn new things about each other!
Mom was enjoying every single minute, she was glowing all the time. Dad was not sure about everything but got into it as well. It was a joy to honor them. We all enjoyed creating this memories.
The cake table was very special because the decorations used were the original ones from their wedding cake 50 years ago. Look very carefully to the small bride and groom on the top of the cake and the small attendance figures next to the photo frame. Mom save them for 50 years. We also had Mom's bride and broom candles and a photo of them cutting the cake their wedding day 50 years ago.

Preparation for Mom and Dad 50th Anniversay

This next weekend, August 26 to be exact, Amor's parents will be married 50 years. This calls for a celebration! Not everybody makes it to celebrate 50 years of marriege. They want something simple. So we have been planning a simple and sweet special party for them. The celebration is the gift their three sons and their family are giving to them to honor and thank them for all they have done for them as parents. There has been a lot of details to think about and do every week. The first thing we did is to create the invitation and sent it so family and friends could save the date. Amor and I came up with a simple invitation we created and made ourselves(see a photo of the invitation above). All the other things to do came rolling after. Now, we are only a few days away and it looks like it's coming togehter. The best thing is the joy of having the family together for a few days.

Picnic and Golf

This weekend we had a great outing! We set out to drive the back roads of Temecula towards Julian. We looked in the map and decided that Lake Vail would be a good place to have a picnic. When we got to the lake we found out that it is a private lake and needed a membership to go in. So we kept on driving looking for a good place for a picnic. We ended up in a small town called Warner Springs. There was a beautiful golf park there and nice green areas with tables. We ate our picnic lunch there. There was a golf tournament going on so we sat there and watch the action of the different groups of golfers while we ate.

After we ate, Amor took out his set of golf clubs he keeps in the trunk of his car. We played golf all afternoon. We had a great time playing golf. Amor had to have a lot of patience with teaching me the techniques of golf. I did not even know how to hold the golf club correctly. But at the end of the evening I was hitting a few balls the right direction and far enough. I had a great time! I think Amor did too because on the way back home we stop at a sport store and Amor was looking at a few golf club sets that are good for my hight. This definitely means he wants me to have my own set of golf clubs so we can play more often. Could this mean he prefer to play with me better than with the boys? Only the future will tell :-)

2006 ASi Convention

We just got back from some very great 5 days at the ASi Convention! This year the convention was at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center on Lake Grapevine in Dallas. It is a huge indoor resort. It has huge glass atriums to make everything in the resort be indoors. There are restaurants, shops, 2 swimming pools, spas, and a four and a half acres of lash indoor gardens. It was such a luxurious place to stay! Being there made me think of heaven and how much more beautiful heaven will be. Here is the link to the Gaylord Texan

This is my 5th year attending the yearly National ASi Convention. Ever since I married Amor. My first one was three weeks after Amor and I were married. We were practically in our honeymoon. ASi or Adventist-Laymen's Services and Industries, besides being a convention where many ministries come together to advertise and share what they do; it is also a spiritual retreat. There are some great meetings, great seminars and joyful fellowship. We got to see old friends and make new ones. Amor and I look forward to it every Summer. Following is a link to the ASi website ASi ministries We go representing TAGnet, an internet ministry that Amor and two other friends started 11 years ago. They had a booth promoting the new product that TAGnet is working on called netAdventist. Following is a link to their website netAdventist. The picture above is Amor busy at the booth.

Finally Started!!!

I have been wanting to start a blog for a long time but never got around to actually do it. There are so many out there and never decided on one until now. But here I am, I finally did it, I register in this one today! I think I will enjoy recording events in the life of Amor and I. As I am writing Amor is packing for our trip to Texas for the ASI Convention this weekend. We leave tomorrow morning.
Since we have an early fly we have to get up at five in the morning to drive to the San Diego airport. So I can not write much tonight. Adios!
