Living Desert Animals

The Living Desert
The Living Desert has desert animals from the American Southwest, Mexico and Africa, including bighorn sheep, mountain lions, Mexican wolves, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, warthogs, leopards......and much more

Following are pictures of some of the animals we saw in our visit here.
Fall, Winter and cool days of Spring is great to come visit, the Summer is just too hot here.
The weather for us was in the mid 70's, just perfect.

We were not able to see everything, so we will be back.

We were walking by this rocky hill and did not think there were animals here. When we sat down at a bench we realized there were animals there. The longer we sat there the more of them we saw. There were bighorn sheep in different areas of the hill. They sure blended well with the color of the hill. We had fun sitting there watching to see how many of them we finally could see.

Some of the wild birds of this desert area

These birds were big

We went to the Wild Wonders Show

This big owl was one of the stars

This bird was very fast and flew/glided so close to people's heads, the lower the people ducked the lower he went.

This fox was so cute. It had really big ears.

There was a race between two turtles. This one made it to the food first.

Walking to go see the giraffes

It was worth the walk because the giraffes were just stunning and beautiful

There were about four big giraffes, and..........

.........a baby giraffe was also there.......so cute:-)

Mom Harty and I in front of a hut of the Village Watutu area of the park.

The birds in this village were smaller and very colorful

There were a few shops here. One of the shops was similar to my name,....ZULU Grass Jewelery.

The Leopards were very active and just beautiful cats

Gordon and his Mother walking to see more animals. Mom Harty really liked this park. She said she had a great time.

The zebras

Beautiful cranes
