MSACA 2007 Fall Fest

Last Sunday was MSACA's Fall Feast. MSACA is short for Murrieta Springs Adventist Christian Academy. It was great fun and great success.
I keep being more and more impress with this school. They really go all out in every event. Everyone is very involved in every school activity and ready to go the extra mile to help.
Everyone is so appreciative of the program I am running in my classroom, and they find any opportunity to show it to me. The staff is a team and the principal is the best one I have every work with, she has a true spirit of service.
I fell very bless to work here.

There was live music

There was all kind of great food

Our Grades 1 and 2 booth. Chinese food!

I kept being put in jail by my students.
This two girls bailed me out. Thanks girls!

There were all kinds of fun activities to do

Pie eating contest
One of the students of the contest could not swallow that last bite.
The poor boy was sick after this.

This is the auction items area. There were all kinds of items here, from special recipes homemade pastries, electrical items, digital cameras, flat screens monitors to professional photographers... Here is where we raised the most money.

Mr. Gibson, a father of one of the third grade students is a firemen. He arrange for some of the member of his crew and two fire engines to come. Firefighters are the latest heroes around here. The kids got to ask them tons of questions about the recent fires in this area and also had a chance to get in their fire engines

October 2007 Southern California Fires

The news said that there was a total of 31 fires here in Southern California last week.
I also heard there were about 500 thousand people evacuated from their homes and many lost their homes. It was a very intense long week.
The fire did not come to Temecula but we sure were surrounded by fires. The fires were close enough for us to get the smoke, ashes and very bad air quantity. There was a day or two that we though we also will need to evacuate since the fires looked too close for confort.

The fire came this close to the Fallbrook SDA church.
See the electrical post. From the post on is burnt.

Cars cover with a dust that is really very fine ashes flakes in the air

Look of the fire around us during the night

Fire during the day.
During the day we wound see a lot of thick smoke.
It was also hot and very dry. The news said that the humidty went as low to 11%

Sabbath afternoon at the Molitor's

Sabbath, a few of us were invited to the Molitor's home for lunch. They live in Fallbrook. Fallbrook has some great properties. They built a small cottage in their property. They also built a barn for their horses.
The weather was beautiful, about 75F and clear blue sky.
It is ironic that this perfect day was the day before the ugly days we are having now with this big fire storm we are experiencing. Fallbrook has now been burning for four days.

The roses and the candles around the house smelled wonderful!

Great Food!

The Molitors have two dongs, this one is the indoor dog. She is beautiful! She is a shy dog, but finally decided to made friends with Gordon.

Visiting and relaxing at their porch. Fun, fun, fun:-)

Walking around their property. They have an area bith big trees, very peacetul area.

Walking to see their horses
