Visiting the Getty Villa

The Atrium was the main public room in a Roman house. The ceiling, open to light and air, allowed rainwater to enter and be capture in, where it was channeled to a underground cistern. The Romans were experts in creating houses that utilize the rain water well.
Which one is Zulita?
The main garden has a big long pool.
Outer Peristyle garden offered a peaceful place for conversation and contemplation.

Archery

Students at our school had a great day learning and and practicing the skill of archery. Mr. West came to train and teach the students. He owns and runs his own archery school. His students participate in national competitions and have won many medals at national championships. Following are some pictures of our fun archery adventure.

We started the day with a whole school worship right at 8:00 am. Mr. West presented a great worship to start the day. Then he gave them a good training and got them excited about learning the skill of archery.

My class went first in getting the training. Our class was from 8:30-10:00 am.
We had a great time leaning about archery and having chances to practice.
The older graders went back to their classroom and did their training later in the day.

Yesterday we traveled to Landcaster California. It was a beautiful blue sky 70F fall weather and we got there a little before church service. Gordon was invited to present at the afternoon Bible Workers training but we decided go early enough to also be there for church.

The pastor Joe Cirigliano doing the Bible Workers Boot Camp training. He is very good and energetic.

Gordon doing his presentation at the Bible workers Training meetings about a web project he is working on. He had great feedback from the people presents there.
Gordon had fun catching up with his
boss back when he workded many summers
at Leani Medows (Northern California Conference camp). He worked at Leani Madows during his high schools days
After the meetings for the day were over we took a little ride
at around the city and visited the musical street. As your
drive there is a song that the road plays for you. Play the video
above and listen very careful and see if you can hear the song.

New Visitors to Our Backyard Garden

We like them better that the butterflies that visited our garden in previous years because they are not laying eggs. We loved the colorful butterflies, but anytime they visited weeks later we had an infestation of caterpillars eating our plants leaves and keeling them slowly. It was a work of a few weeks of watching our garden carefully to get the caterpillars of the garden.
