Wild Animal Park

Since we have season passes for the animal parks of this area we go often when we just want to hike/walk in a place that we also see animal. Because we have the seasons passes we do not have to pay the extra fee for the tram so we usually take the tram ride. It is very relaxing and enjoyable. Since they have a huge habitat for the animals here most of the animals are seen but far away. But what we like is that every time there are also different animals that are at close view. So it is a different new experience every time we go.

The tram ride tour guide is very good about pointing the animals in view and giving information about them

Big habitat for the animals

Animals always seemed in harmony

Animal always seemed so peaceful...

...and relax

They have many giraffes here. I liked the way this one was walking so gracefully along:-)

Saw a giraffe drinking for the first time. I did not know they can bend all the way down like this. Always thought that their food and water had to be up high at their neck level.

Animals relaxing in their so peaceful habitat

So relaxing!

Very open and spacious habitat for the animals

There were a lot of Rhinoceros in close view today

Some were together

Some rhinos were doing something alone.
The Rhinoceros were fun to watch!

This one was busy eating

This one was giving us his back side

Look at this face! Wandered what is in his mind.

Action at the Lion Exhibit

Since we have season passes for this park we have come here to hike/walk and see the animals many times since we moved to this area. Every time we walk by the lion exhibit the lion is just sleeping, we can hardly see him and there is not much happening.
But this time the lion was not sleeping and he was almost interacting with us the people watching him. He lion gave us some action! He was right there, not too far. It was amazing to have him so close.

The lion sitting there so proud as the people watch

Lots of interaction with the viewers. He was almost looking directly at us many times.

At one point he yawned!
Starting to open his mouth.

Mouth open and tongue out

Mouth fully open. It does not seem big in this picture, but as we were there live in front of him it looked very big and the teeth were huge.

Closing his mouth. Look at those huge teeth!

Mouth close now. He seemed very relax.
It sure was fun watching the lion!

Elephant Exhibit, Fun With the Baby Elephant!

Loved the elephant exhibit. There are benches for people to sit down and watch them in action in this great habitat they have created for them

Big full grown elephant eating.

Younger and older elephant with ears down

Now both have their ears up!

Full grown elephant walking, very elegant. It does not seem big in this picture, but he was very big!

The wild Animal Park main purpose is to breed animals and then ship them to different zoos of the world. So there are elephants of all ages. Here are some young elephants eating.

Baby elephant under mama, so cute!

But the most fun to watch was the 3 weeks old baby elephant. He wanted to be very near mama all the time. He was very active.

Very active under mama. Walking all over under her. She could not do much with the little elephant all over under her.

Very playful rolling on the grass near mama

But baby elephant did not like when mama went too far away. It ran very fast to catch up with mama!

Still running to catch up with mama!

Mama, why did you leave me?

Happy to be very near mama again

Every time we go to the Wild Animal Park we make sure to visit the Gorilla exhibit. The Gorillas are usually just sitting and staring but they are still interesting to watch. But this time they gave us some action. Following are some of the pictures of the gorillas in action.

Gorillas giving each other some loving action

So cute!

Enjoyed a relaxing sabbath afternoon at Prospect Park

The roses smelled so good!

Zulita's favorite rose color

Nice walking among the orange grove

Came across a cat in a stroller. The owner told us that he also has a leash he uses to take his cat on walks.
