At Mount San Jacinto with the Lamoreauxs

Nancy, David, Gordon and I visited Mount San Jacinto State Park. Mount San Jacinto is the second highest mountain range in southern California. It stands 10,834 above sea level. It is a good place to come for a picnic, hike and backpack. There are also two camp grounds up there.

We took the Palm Springs Areak Tramway up the mountain. The weather changes drastically. It was a very hot 113F at the bottom and at the top it was a cool 76F. It was so good to be up there away from the heat:-)

Here we are at the Mount San Jacinto sign. We were at this exact sign back in February when during a snow storm and we were freezing. We learned that we like to come here in the summer time better.

Love the trails amoung rocks and forest pine trees .

We did not do the long hiking trails because we came to a sign that made it clear that we needed a permit to continue.
