Lake Tahoe

Following are pictures of our visit to Lake Tahoe last Saturday. It was Mother's Day weekend so we decided to take mother on an outing to Lake Tahoe. Lake Tahoe is about an hour from Sacramento where my parent's, Cesar, Ana and Carlos live. We came from Southern California and Ada came from Pacific Union College where she lives. It was a beautiful perfect sunny day. It was fun to be together with family.

We ate lunch by the lake

Tita, my parent's dog, is a house dog and does not go out much. The few times they take her out, she is a scared dog. Here she is under the picnic table while we eat our lunch.

Misty is used to going out. She is not shy about traveling like Tita is. Here she is enjoying the view of the lake while we eat.

Here I am with my parents sitting among the pine tree forest with a veiw of Lake Tahoe in front of us. That was heaven.

We climbed up this big rock for a better view. We wanted to make sure Dad did not fall going down, so the guys carry him down.

It started to get cold towards the evening. We all put on our jackets including Misty (Ana's dog).
Misty's Jacket said "I Don't Need Your Attitude, I Have My Own"
And it's true. She sure has her attitude :-)

Fallen Leaf Lake

Our family decided to head to the mountains to Lake Tahoe. On the way there are many beautiful places to stop. My sister Ada has been camping in this area a few times so she guided us to visit Fallen Leaf Lake. This is one of the lakes near Lake Tahoe. It sure was beautiful there! This is not a spot visited by tourist since the lake is surrounded by private residential and vacation homes. We treasure the peaceful time we spend there admiring the beauty of the lake and mountains.

We went around the lake. Here we are at one of the stops.

There is some snow on the mountains but it was not cold.
I am sure a lot of snow melts every day.

Birthday Celebration

After the afternoon of relaxation at my sister's garden it was time for a celebration. That evening we went to celebrate Cesar's birthday at the Cheese Factory. The fish was delicious and the desert too.

We flew to Sacramento for a four day weekend. After a busy week it was perfect to arrive at my sister's house and relaxed in her garden. Her and her husband Carlos have various plants everywhere. It is cozy and beautiful. I wanted to stay there forever.

2008 Spring MSACA Education Sabbath

Today was Education Sabbath at the Valley Center SDA Church. The preliminaries and church service was presented by the Murrieta Springs Adventist Christian Academy (MSACA) students. It was a worship service full of music and scripture verses. We were all very blessed by the student's presentation. Thank you children!

Adios Bachelor and Bacheloret Furniture

Time came to say adios to our bachelor and bacheloret furniture.

To the right is a picture of Gordon sitting at his blue Lazyboy reclinable he had most of his
bachelor years. He found it next to a dumpster one day. It looked in perfect condition so he took it into his apartment he shared with his roomate Jerry. The lamp above is a hand-me-down to him from his family. His family had it for years. The tan chair is a chair my parents gave me after they had it for years when I moved into my first appartment. This is the furniture we had have in our living room since we got married. We know if we did not get rid of them we will never buy new ones so off they went to my school Yard sale last sunday. Now, let's see how long it takes us to get our new furniture.
